Every site gets a fixed quote after a first chat, because every site is different. Here’s roughly where things start.
Building your site · one-off

From £40 a month
Depends on the size of the server and your site. Starts when your site goes live. Cancel with 30 days’ notice.

Not sure you need it? It’s optional. I can set up your hosting in your name and hand it over, and you pay the host directly. After that, you (or anyone you hire) look after it, though I’m always happy to help with anything extra, as a separate quote.

How many pages
A five-page site and a fifty-page site are different jobs.
What it needs to do
Bookings, payments and accounts take more building and testing than pages of text.
Editing it yourself
An editor for your own updates adds some work up front and saves you emails later.

Whether your words and photos are ready, or need gathering along the way.
How long does a site take?
Most sites take 4-8 weeks from go-ahead to launch. Most of the variation is how quickly words and photos arrive. Sites with bookings, payments or accounts take longer. You’ll get a timeline with your quote.
Do I own my website?
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name and your content is yours. The code becomes yours too, once the build is paid for.
Do I have to pay for hosting and care?
No, it’s optional. I can set up your hosting in your name and hand it over, and you pay the host directly. Or I can run the server for you and look after the site each month. Either way, the price depends on the size of the server your site needs.
Can I update it myself?
If you want to. I can build in an editor for the parts you change often, like news, events or a gallery. If you’d rather not, email me and I’ll do it.
What happens when I want changes after launch?
With hosting and care, small changes are included, up to 1 day a month. Bigger additions, like a new section or feature, get a separate quote before I start.
What do you need from me?
Your words, your photos, and quick answers to questions. If you don’t have words or photos yet, say so and we’ll plan around it.
What if I want to leave?
I’ll hand over the code, the content and the domain, and help you move it somewhere else. No lock-in.
Do you use AI?
Yes. I use AI tools to work faster and more efficiently, as most developers do now. But nothing goes live on your site until I’ve read it, understood it and tested it myself. AI speeds up the typing; the decisions, the checking and the responsibility are still mine.
Can you take over my existing site?
Often, yes. Send me the address and I’ll take a look and tell you honestly whether it’s worth keeping.
